What is the Michigan Home Help Program?
The Michigan Home Help Program is a Medicaid-funded program that pays family members to care for a loved one at home. If your loved one qualifies, you can be their paid caregiver without quitting your job or navigating the state system alone.
Care Plan Inc. handles the entire process for you. We verify your eligibility, complete your CHAMPS enrollment, submit your paperwork to the state, and make sure you start getting paid as quickly as possible.
The program is available to families in all 83 counties across Michigan, fully funded through Michigan Medicaid.
How Much Can You Receive?
Most participants qualify for up to 180 hours of care per month. The exact number of hours is determined by MDHHS based on a home assessment of your loved one's needs, including how many daily tasks require assistance and how often.
Care tasks covered by the program include bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation.
Need more support? The Expanded Home Help Services program may authorize additional hours for qualifying individuals.
